Improvements to cycling facilities in/around Congleton

Some good news:

Cheshire East have agreed to spend money on two projects that we have been on about for a while.

1 Cycling is to be permitted in the pedestrian precinct in Congleton before 10.00 and after 16.30.

2 The towpath on the Macclesfield Canal is to be improved between Severn Close and Congleton railway station. This will complete the link from the town centre to the station that is due to be started in March.

Stoke on Trent City Council is creating a bridleway to join the end of the Biddulph Valley Way to the Cauldon Canal and create the final link in a traffic-free cycle route from Congleton and Biddulph all the way into the heart of Stoke-on-Trent and onward to Stone via the Trent and Mersey Canal. When the Cauldon Canal towpath is revamped there will be a traffic-free route between all these places and Leek. Great for commuters and leisure cyclists.
