The good news is that there is some money forthcoming for new cycle route signs around the town, so at last we will have ones that state a destination. Useful for all. We just have to decide where they will be best places.
Chester and N Wales CTC are organising a ride on 17/07/2011 from Christleton pond at 09:30 to Church Lawton and back (60 miles total) led by Sue Booth.
Visit Chester and N Wales CTC website for more info.
Plan your cycle journey with this online planner at Cycle Streets. Just type in your exact start and end point (street name, place name, or postcode), or zoom in/out of the map to mark your points, and then view the suggested route.
This clever gizmo also tells you the distance, estimated time and how many calories you will burn.
The weather forecast is good for Sunday, so dust off your bike, pack a picnic, and meet us outside Congleton Town Hall at 10.30am for a leisurely, mostly flat cycle ride to Biddulph Grange Country Park (tea and coffee on sale here usually) and back in time to enjoy the Food and Drink Festival in the afternoon.
See you there!
The third edition of the Congleton Cycle Network Map (free) is now available to show you the way into and across town without using busy and intimidating roads. For instance, did you know that you can cycle from West Heath into the town centre in less than 10 minutes and not once be on a main road? Discover these quiet routes on your bike on Thursday evenings (23rd June, 21st July and 11th August). Time and place are on the social rides calendar.
