Exciting times! Lots going on behind the scenes in Congleton with discussions with town councillor and deputy mayor Suzie Ackers-Smith and CE cllr David Brown over tweaks to make cycling around town easier, and longer-term more major work to make the cycle route network less disjointed, and add a new circumnavigation of the town. Vote for Funding for Congleton Cycling Network – Save the Date: Sat 28th Feb

What? Vote for more funds to start filling in the gaps in the Congleton cycle network. Cheshire East is holding a Decision Day for locals to listen to various community project proposals. Where? Congleton Town Hall. When? Sat 28th Feb 2017 from 9.30am-noon How? Anyone 12 or older can vote, but you have to vote in person and MUST REGISTER before 9.50am, listen to the all the proposed projects and then vote (from 10-11am). Wishlist for Cycle Network as Legacy of Tour of Britain event

We've been busy putting together an ambitious wishlist plus some cheap and cheerful quick fixes (will post these later) to improve the Congleton Cycle Network, as requested by town councillor Suzie Akers-Smith, the force behind the success of the 2016 Tour of Britain stage held here in Cheshire East. Cheshire East Council's leader, Rachel Bailey, and others want to see a cycling legacy from this event, so that residents and visitors will have a good quality cycle network to use. The third edition of the Congleton Cycle Network Map (free) is now available to show you the way into and across town without using busy and intimidating roads. For instance, did you know that you can cycle from West Heath into the town centre in less than 10 minutes and not once be on a main road?
